In March 2001 Space Shuttle Discovery lifted off right at sunrise from Kennedy Space Center to begin the STS-102 mission. From my Space Shuttle photography archive at bcpix.com, this was the first shuttle mission I covered with a digital camera, having recently begun my transition from film photography to over to the digital age.
I photographed this launch to the International Space Station from a public park across the Banana Rierf rom the launch pad to capture the reflection in the calm early morning water.
